Sahara Escape

Day 1 - Fes - Ifrane - Errachidia - Erfoud

A day trip through the exotic country side of Morocco to the last city where civilization ends.

The Mid Atlas Mountains, near Ifrane, hold a spectacular panorama of scenery including cedar forests where friendly and mischievous Barbary apes are waiting for you to take photos of them. During the afternoon, you will also stop at a local fossil museum.

Dinner will be served at your hotel in Erfoud.

Day 2 - Merzouga (Camel ride and overnight in the desert)

Travel by jeep to Merzouga, to the sugary sands of the Sahara. Once being there, embark upon your camel as the red sun slithers down the dunes, and prepare for the hypnotic beat of Berber drums and songs while enjoying the ritual pouring of mint tea. A traditional Moroccan feast, splendid soups, savory tagines, and couscous which are all made from local ingredients will be specially prepared for welcoming your stay in the desert.

The stillness of the Sahara sings to you as stars poke from the desert sky. A peaceful slumber awaits you under a nomad tarp as in days of old. (Lodging is also available at a nearby kasbah.)

Day 3 Sahara / Fes (B)

Following breakfast, your trusty camel will accompany you across the dunes to a waiting jeep, which will take you to Erfoud for a firsthand look at local village life. Traveling on to Azrou, you'll pass fragrant forests of pine and cedar dotted amid lush farms and earthen Berber villages through Azrou. Then you continue on to the village of Midelt for lunch. This village is sandwiched right between the mineral-rich Middle and High Atlas Mountains, which appear painted in rich shades of sienna, emerald and gold.

Dinner will be served at your lodge, a charming riad in the ancient city in Fes.

- If you wish to modify the itinerary according to specific dates, interests or cities of arrival or departure, please advise the staff.

- Pick-up from any airport, port or train station in Morocco is available.

- This tour can be extended or modified to end wherever as guests' wish.

• Cancellation more than 60 days prior to your arrival date to Morocco: we keep 30% of the trip cost
• Cancellation more than 30 days prior to your arrival date to Morocco: we keep 50% of the trip cost
• Cancellation less than 30 days prior to your arrival date to Morocco: we keep 75% of the trip cost
• Cancellation less than 15 days prior to your arrival date to Morocco: we keep 100% of the trip cost
