There is fine Oriental art, textiles from Tetouan, tribal rugs and unique antiques and handicrafts - all searched out over the years for your pleasure by your host Jalil El Hayar. Jalil, having served as a tour guide for over 20 years, delights in sharing his intimate knowledge of the country.

This love of beautiful design and objects shows up everywhere in the refined riad, which also has its own architectural beauty with soaring carved wood ceilings with chandeliers, and exotic banisters leading down numerous paths. Guests enjoy lounging in one of the many exotic sitting parlors with jewel-colored brocade cushions. The lush landscaped grounds offer another place to meander while experiencing your Maghreb dream.

Ambience

Retire like a traditional Moroccan toone of the sitting room salons with jewel-tones and lush brocaded cushions, perfect for lounging and conversing with new friends. Or challenge them to a game of chess while enjoying the exotic sounds of Andalusian-Arab music or Gnaoua trance sounds. English, French and German television and videos are also available.

Retreat into the quiet of the library and settle into the finely crafted Moroccan chair to learn more about the fascinating world of the Maghreb. Books, magazines and other publications on architecture, literature, religion and philosophy await. Internet and fax service are also available for your convenience.

Restaurant
The intimate candle-lit restaurant serves the cuisine of Fez like no other. Tantalizing tagines laced with the saffron and cinnamon of the souk are served on a fluffy pillow of couscous, fresh fish is grilled to perfection, and a special assortment of salads, relishes and sides are made from the freshest vegetables and herbs found at local farmers markets. This is just some of the cuisine you'll discover at the riad where meals are lovingly prepared by Nadia, Si Jalil's wife, who uses cherished recipes handed down from generations.

Hamman
The hamman is a traditional Moroccan spa unlike no other. Here you'll melt away any tension and stress in a soothing steam in a room filled with fragrant essential oils, and tiled with mosaics in an ancient style dating back to the 12th century. Special spa rituals include covering the body and hair with soothing ghassoul, a nourishing clay with healing properties to draw out toxins, and an invigorating massage to further relax the body and soul.

The hammam is a part of every Moroccan's health and beauty regime and you'll emerge refreshed and renewed after this unique experience.

Garden
The garden delights the senses with its colorful and fragrant blooms and majestic palms. Meander along the paths in the quiet that's only interrupted by the sounds of the birds flying overhead or perhaps the sound of splashing water. Lovely wrought-iron tables and chairs are provided for your pleasure.

In order to make a reservation, 50% of the total charges have to be deposited at the time of reservation. The remainder 50% are to be paid 30 days before the date of arrival at the Riad.

- Cancellation 30-60 days before arrival date - 50% of total cost charged
- Cancellation 15-30 days before arrival date - 75% of total cost charged
