Marrakesh Voyage's main interest in sustainability focuses on socio-economic concerns and helping local communities. Our company supports non-profit organisations in Morocco that help local communities and conserve the natural and cultural heritage of these groups, donate 5% of our yearly profit to low-income villages and provide financial power to the non-profit organisation of the village of Anrar in the Ourika Valley to achieve some of their community goals including promoting cleanliness and building a cultural centre where the young and old will learn to read, write and speak Arabic in addition to their native Berber language. Marrakesh Voyage is also concerned with reducing the carbon emissions caused by travel and plants one tree for each client that travels with us.

For the past 25 years Marrakesh Voyage has been customising trips that suit all travellers' needs with offices based throughout Morocco and one in New York. Marrakesh Voyage began when Akim, as a side project whilst studying film making in the United States, found pleasure helping Americans plan the ‘trip of a lifetime' to Morocco. Akim followed his heart and became a representative of Morocco to people from all corners of the globe by promoting Morocco and Moroccan adventures online. What started as a simple business with one van and driver has grown into a complete staff of 22 in addition to cooperation with 15 small transportation and tourist companies in the region.

Meet the Team

Akim, a native Moroccan, has the hospitality gene and it's in his nature to help others. He loves inviting clients to his home for a Moroccan meal with his family to feel and experience the real Morocco. Akim speaks Arabic, French and English fluently as well as some Spanish and Italian and finds the greatest reward working in tourism continues to be the reaction of first-time visitors to Fes & Meknes. While he is passionate about his work, he's equally passionate about the culture and traditions of Fes, listening to stories of daily life and sipping coffee with locals in the souk. When Akim has free time, he loves to spend valuable time with his son and practice various sport together, such as fishing, hunting and karate. He also loves to travel around Morocco, especially to the High Atlas Mountains, small romantic beach cities like El Jadida and Essaouira and the Sahara. Akim loves to do his shopping at the organic farmers market on the outskirts of Fes and prepare his favourite meal of Harira and Couscous with vegetables and lamb using fresh and local ingredients. Akim also enjoys travelling the world of spiritual music locally in medieval Fes every June at the amazing Fes Festival of World Sacred Music.
