
Weather in Fes & Meknes
Fes and Meknes experiences extreme temperatures and has very hot summers and cold winters. The seasonal changes in climate are very pronounced and average temperatures vary throughout the year. The mercury level during the summer months can frequently shoot past the 40° C mark; in winter it can drop as low as 4° C or under and can be really chilly, especially at night, when the temperature drops to its lowest.
The most pleasant time in Fes and Meknes is during autumn and spring. So, the ideal time to visit the place is between September and November or between April and June, when the weather is dry, warm and very comfortable.
Summer is from July to September, with the hottest months being July and August, when the average maximum temperature in fes and Meknes is 33° C. Even during these months, the nights are much cooler than daytime. However, it is still a very uncomfortable time in Fes and best avoided. Summer showers are rare, though rain can be expected during the months of December to May. January and February are the coldest months, reaching lows of 4° C and 5° C while the highs rarely cross the 16° C mark.
